I do think we need a new religion for the secular crowd but I suspect shouting “buy into these beliefs” is an untenable strategy The 21st century person needs the option to not drink the cool-aid. We want to be able to opt out without entering into conflict with proselytizers of belief Better to express the religion through fiction so people can safely say “I’m not feeling it” and through the scientific method/empiricism so people can say “that’s just one possible theory man, it doesn’t fit my own personal experience”
