🚨🇺🇸 FLASH FLOOD WARNING: CHICAGO HIT WITH 6 INCHES PER HOUR AS RESCUES UNDERWAY
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Chicago and east-central Cook County until 11:45 PM Tuesday as catastrophic rainfall overwhelms the city.
National Weather Service alert:
"Do not attempt to travel unless fleeing flood waters. This is a dangerous and life-threatening situation"
Rain falling at 6 inches per hour has triggered multiple water rescues with one spotter reporting over 5 inches in just 90 minutes near the United Center.
Impacted areas include the Loop, Near West Side, Near South Side, and Bridgeport as drainage systems fail.
The slow-moving storm continues producing rapid-onset flooding across Chicago.
