Suppose you are in a math class and you are struggling to follow the lecture. The right strategy is often to give up, go home, and just read the textbook (with ChatGPT) yourself
Math is followed at very different paces by different people. It is impossible for a professor to set a pace that works for everyone in a large lecture-hall format, and besides that many professors are pretty bad at targeting even the average student
The ideal strategy is you come into lecture already understanding the material, so your personal pace is much faster than the professor's. The second-best strategy, if you didn't do this, is unfortunately just give up on the lecture and learn it yourself later
