Founder & CEO @derek_t_lo says some healthcare workflows remain stubbornly resistant to AI, not because the models aren’t advancing, but because precision is non-negotiable. “We’re working with an extremely fine margin for error. Things have to essentially be perfect.” For now, Medallion relies on deterministic execution rather than handing everything to models. “What we’ve seen is current models are not capable at doing perfection… executing deterministically is proving to be better.” His view is AI will eventually get there, but in critical workflows like licensing, compliance, and credentialing, perfection has to come first.
