🇨🇳🇺🇸TARIFF RACE TRIGGERS SHIPPING PRICE EXPLOSION: IMPORTERS PANIC
U.S. companies are racing to import goods from China before a temporary tariff break ends — and cargo ships just raised the price of playing catch-up.
Starting June 1, it’ll cost $6,500 to ship one container to the West Coast.
That’s up from $3,500.
East Coast? $7,500. Another hike to $8,500 is already looming by mid-June.
Toy makers like Basic Fun (they make Tonka Trucks) say their shipping costs are about to double.
Fitness brand Echelon? Same problem.
Ports in China are jammed. U.S. ports are backed up by over a week.
Ships are stalled, containers are out of place, and there’s no cap on what carriers can charge.
This isn’t just inflation — it’s a traffic jam with a price tag.
