I told a friend I’m going to Israel next year and she said “Oh, cool!” I said “I’m glad you’re not reacting in a weird way.” “Huh? What do you mean?” I then explained to her that some people hate Israel and think it’s the most evil country on earth. She was surprised. Genuinely had no clue what I was talking about. She is totally offline. She said, “The internet is a dark place. I am not on social media at all anymore. It’s always good to travel to places and experience them first hand. Especially historically significant places. Anyone making you feel bad about that is too online.” Wise woman. 👏
