The toxic thing about Bitcoin maximalism is the tendency to promote complete garbage instead. They know Ethereum threatens their core belief system, as it has grown into exactly what they once fought for, but abandoned years ago. So they try to spin everything else as a competitor to Ethereum, hoping that by promoting it - or by FUDing Ethereum itself - they can keep ETH as small as possible. Ironically, it doesn’t have to be this way. I actually believe Bitcoin and Ethereum could co-exist, if Bitcoin maxis would simply focus on themselves. Bitcoin could grow alongside Ethereum as a pure, simple, and secure digital SoV - a perfect hedge against Ethereum’s broader vision. That is, if they actually acknowledged and addressed the existential problems Bitcoin faces, instead of ignoring them. The flip side: Bitcoin wouldn’t be as valuable as Ethereum. And that is ultimately what maxis are afraid of. Still, I truly believe that independently, each would already be worth far more than they are today.
