My friend met a man at an important conference. He told me the man was the gloomiest, most depressed person he'd ever seen. At dinner, my friend asked the man about his career. He said, "I'm a history professor & writer specializing in the Habsburgs." My friend, who is keen on history, thought about it for a bit, then commented, "Well, that must be interesting." Gloomy Gus then said, "No. No Habsburg EVER did anything interesting." Then turned back to his dinner with a frown and said nothing else the rest of the meal.
