(My public school did, when I was kid) The formula is straightforward: If a kid can learn fast, let them learn fast Schools can do this in groups (by grouping kids of similar ability) Or individually (with quality educational software) But instead, anti-excellence policymakers have decided that our schools' top priority should be equalization, not education. And so we eliminate honors classes, gifted curricula, middle school algebra - whatever it takes to "close the gap" and make sure that our highest achieving kids never have the opportunity to show what they're capable of
