remember when u could tell if someone was real online? those days are over. identity stands as the next essential primitive in the internet's continued evolution there have been many attempts at solving this problem, but @Humanityprot is building smthing completely different 🧵👇
/ before we get into it, let's address the 🐘 in the room yesterday's $H TGE has been getting tons of negative attention across CT. fair. the 'fairdrop' execution wasn't great and the TGE may have come too soon. however, poor token distribution doesn't necessarily invalidate the underlying product vision. crypto is full of projects that had perfect airdrops but terrible products, and solid tech with botched launches so let's try to separate execution from innovation and look at what @Humanityprot's actually building...
/ most solutions think identity = binary human verification, but that's like saying your passport only needs to prove you're not a robot what abt age, citizenship, travel history, professional credentials? @Humanityprot lets u verify stackable credentials instead of simple yes/no answers
/ what i like about @Humanityprot is that it doesn't force u to hand over any particular data -- you choose what to get credentials for. for example, if u don't want to scan your palm, u might prove uniqueness by stacking credentials like verified: -bachelor's degree -account with reputable bank -airline loyalty status multiple pathways to verification + flexibility + modularity = true sovereign identity
/ how do u prove the additional parts of your identity? straight from the source: -Harvard has your transcripts → they issue education credentials -Chase bank maintains your account history → they verify financial standing -United Airlines tracks your airline history → they confirm loyalty status (these are just examples to help u visualize)
/ and @Humanityprot's $H actually has real utility built into the protocol: -apps pay $H to verify credentials -identity validators earn $H for issuing them -zkProofers get $H for validating proofs that they exist demand drives token flow.
/ concerned abt privacy & security? it seems @Humanityprot can be trusted. YOU own the encryption keys for data housed and fragmented across decentralized storage (IPFS), so YOU decide exactly what gets shared with who. that means no central storage that any party can coerce into handing over your data. credentials can be revoked from any app u share with, at any time.
/ some risks to monitor: -unlock schedules haven't been disclosed -governance still centralized -it's yet to be seen whether Humanity can onboard major institutions as credential issuers -and obv, community trust needs rebuilding after the airdrop
