i write about what I find interesting.
I think I’ve come to a decision about where to spend my time right now, given how the X algorithm is currently deprioritising CT.
Yes, I could keep powering through. Posting for the sake of it. Trying to algo maxx and optimise for reach. But that feels like limited ROI.
If what’s happening is something I can’t meaningfully influence, it makes far more sense to spend less time on X, which is not a conclusion I ever expected to come to.
What feels absurd is that the system is actively pushing me to disengage. That’s the opposite of what an addictive algorithm should do. If I can’t see good content from friends and people in the industry, why bother checking at all until it gets sorted?
I’ll keep posting, but more on my own terms. About what I actually find interesting, when it’s convenient to do so. Anything beyond that feels futile.
And yes, I’m keenly aware that no one will even see this given how the algo is right now. Ironic.
C’est la vie.

"The algorithm problems everyone is talking about do not exist because I am not experiencing it." 10/10 chud logic.

A lot of influencers on CT feel that the algorithm no longer favors them.
I think the harsh reality that the crypto industry has to face/accept in order to mature is to recognize that maybe the algorithm is not to blame, but rather people just choosing to ignore all the low quality posts about "lowcap gems" and memecoins that almost all eventually end up going to zero.
If all of your posts are paid posts about altcoins (that many fail to disclose), that then get rugged shortly after you shill them, you can't act like it's just the algorithm's fault.
How long do you think you can shill scams to your audience before your audience starts ignoring you? Why should people listen and share your posts if they feel you have ulterior motives to everything you say (undisclosed paid promotions)?
To mature, the industry needs to reward people who actually build useful products, and who are in the industry for the right reasons, not people who just scream "ALT SEASON!" any time a few alts rally 10%.
In order for crypto to mature, we need to go through this difficult but painful process. It was always going to happen, it was only a matter of when.
By the end of this process, many people who lived through crypto the last few years will ultimately turn into much better investors in the future. Then they will end up being the "old boring guys" telling the next generation about good investing principles until they learn the hard way as well.
